🌿 Wrapping Up a Wonderful Growing Season at Sister Sage Farm
As the leaves start to fall on Vashon Island, we’re feeling grateful for another beautiful growing season at Sister Sage Farm. From seed to remedy, every harvest reminds us why we love doing what we do — bringing you natural, small-batch herbal products made right here in the Pacific Northwest.
Valerian, Calendula, and a Visit from the Birds
This fall, we dug up fragrant Valerian root, one of our favorite herbs for supporting deep, restful sleep. Our cheerful Calendula flowers bloomed in abundance, their bright orange petals lighting up the garden and soon finding their way into our soothing balms.
And while we had big plans for this year’s Hawthorn berries, the local birds clearly had plans of their own — they beat us to every last one! We like to think of it as sharing the harvest with our feathered neighbors.
Apples for the Community
Our apple trees were especially generous this season. We gathered baskets full of crisp, organic apples — many of which were donated to the Pike Place Market preschool and kindergarten kids. There’s nothing better than seeing little ones enjoy the sweetness of farm-fresh fruit.
From Farm to Product
Now that the harvest is in, our team is busy crafting tinctures, balms, and tonics — from Dream On (with Valerian Root) to Weekend Warrior Muscle Balm — so we can keep your favorite herbal remedies stocked all winter long. Every bottle and tin begins as a plant grown in our soil and tended with care.
Looking Ahead to Spring 2026
It may be hard to believe, but we’re already planning for next spring! We’ll be expanding our herb beds and creating new volunteer opportunities for anyone who wants to get their hands in the soil, learn about herbal farming, and be part of our seed-to-remedy story.
If that sounds like you, stay tuned — we’ll be sharing sign-up details early next year right here on the blog and in our newsletter.
Thank you for being part of the Sister Sage community and for supporting small-farm herbalism. Each bottle you buy helps us keep this cycle of growing, harvesting, and giving back alive.
